What I do
As a Licensed Clinical Specialist Social Worker I practice individual, family and marital therapy with adults 18+. I have been helping people learn to manage anxiety, mood, attention and relationship issues for almost 25 years.
I am also a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP) and I work with clients to resolve the effects of trauma they are currently experiencing. My practice has a balance of established clients seen on a bi-weekly basis and clients who return periodically for updates and to work on previously developed treatment plans. My approach allows clients to access and leave services on an as needed basis. Unless a current client experiences a crisis I do not typically see clients on a weekly basis. I continue to accept new clients who can be seen bi-weekly, but may be limited on after school or evening appointment times. With flexibility from the client I am often able to make a scheduling need work.
Services
Individual Therapy
My work with individuals is centered on the belief that all people, no matter their age or circumstances, have within themselves a great capacity to change or improve and manage personal, professional or learning challenges. Therapy is often focused on building a practice of caring for self, asserting mindful boundaries with others and resolving to move forward with more peace or acceptance for change or loss.
Sessions are typically 60 minutes at $150 per clinical hour
Couples Therapy
My work with couples is grounded in the core Social Work value of the importance of human relationships. The Couple’s Process is often focused on helping each partner develop a strong, separate self while learning to strengthen boundaries in how each partner communicates needs. The goal is often for couples to find a way to remain in a committed relationship or to co-parent within a healthy dynamic if partners decide to dissolve a marriage but remain a family.
Sessions may vary in length and are pro-rated with the first hour $150 and each additional half hour $50
Somatic Experience
Somatic Experiencing (SE™) aims to resolve symptoms of stress, shock, and trauma that accumulate in our bodies and nervous systems. When we are stuck in patterns of fight, flight, or freeze, SE helps us release, recover, and become more resilient. It is a body-oriented therapeutic model applied in professional settings for healing trauma and other stress disorders from a nervous system lens within a practitioner’s scope of practice. It is based on a multidisciplinary intersection of physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics and has been clinically applied for more than four decades.
Clinical Supervision
My approach for clinical supervision is to support the process of helping Social Workers develop strong clinical and business skills to move into their own private practice journey. I accept very few LMSW clinicians as it is important to me to ensure that my supervisees can attain their licensure goals in a timely and clinically enhancing manner.
60 minute sessions are $125
